Hollie Buhagiar, a London-based composer, songwriter, and sound designer from Gibraltar, is a distinguished alumna of the National Film and Television School and Leeds College of Music.
Drawing from her diverse background in traditional composition, song-writing, and music production, Hollie crafts scores that are rich in character and depth. Her approach often involves blending found sounds with her vocal experimentation, resulting in uniquely captivating sonic landscapes tailored to each project.
Her most recent credit is composing the original score for Sky docu-drama series, THE ROYAL KILL LIST. Hollie’s talent has been recognised with notable accolades, including scoring the BAFTA-winning animation short POLES APART and earning the title of Best Composer at the Underwire Film Festival for BAGGAGE in 2018. Her theatrical debut, COLLECTIVE RAGE: A PLAY IN FIVE BETTIES garnered a nomination for Best Sound Design at the Offie Awards. Additionally, she is highly sought-after as a vocalist, with recent contributions to the acclaimed eleventh season of DOCTOR WHO for the BBC.
Recent score credits also include the feature documentary CONSCIENTIOUS PROTECTORS: A STORY OF REBELLION AGAINST EXTINCTION, shedding light on Extinction Rebellion’s monumental civil disobedience movement. She also lent her musical talents to “Sandstorm,” the first-ever Pakistani short film to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, as well as “Cradled,” a part of the Channel 4 / Blacklight On The Edge anthology drama series.
