Hollie Buhagiar, a London-based composer, songwriter, and sound designer originally from Gibraltar, is a distinguished alumna of both the National Film and Television School and Leeds College of Music.
Hollie’s work is characterised by her distinctive blend of traditional composition, songwriting, and music production. She creates scores that are rich in character and depth, often integrating found sounds with her vocal experimentation to craft captivating sonic landscapes tailored to each project.
Her latest work includes composing the original score for the Sky docu-drama series ROYAL KILL LIST, starring Sheila Atim, Jared Harris, and Joseph Fiennes.
Hollie’s exceptional talent has garnered her several accolades, including scoring the BAFTA-winning animated short POLES APART and being named Best Composer at the Underwire Film Festival in 2018 for BAGGAGE. Her theatrical debut, COLLECTIVE RAGE: A PLAY IN FIVE BETTIES, earned a nomination for Best Sound Design at the Offie Awards. In addition to her composing work, Hollie is a sought-after vocalist, with recent contributions to the critically acclaimed eleventh season of DOCTOR WHO for the BBC.
Her recent score credits also include the documentary series EXTINCTION REBELLION: FOR LIFE, which highlights Extinction Rebellion’s monumental civil disobedience movement. She also contributed her musical talents to SANDSTORM, the first-ever Pakistani short film to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, and CRADLED, part of Channel 4’s Blacklight On The Edge anthology drama series.
