Kazakh-British Galya Bisengalieva is known for her atmospheric compositions encompassing deep drones woven across a range of genres from folk, ambient, classical and electronic music.  Highly sought after as an internationally-recognised talent, she has entered the world of scoring film and television with an unmistakable presence.

Her sensational solos and immaculate improvisations can be experienced across numerous film soundtracks including the critically-acclaimed YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE directed by Lynne Ramsay, BAFTA-winning British drama ROCKS, Oscar nominated PHANTOM THREAD and THE TWO POPES, and the twisted horror remake of SUSPIRIA.

As a violinist and soloist, Galya’s performances have graced the halls of prestigious venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Brooklyn Academy of Arts and the Paris Philharmonie.  She has closely collaborated with some of the world’s finest musicians spanning many genres including Hildur Guðnadóttir, Mica Levi, Thom Yorke and Actress.

Galya released her debut album ‘Aralkum’ on One Little Independent Records in 2020, focusing on wide expanses of tones to suit the album’s subject: the Aral Sea and the desolate landscapes formed from its disastrous shrinking. Her debut soundtrack album, HOLD YOUR BREATH: THE ICE DIVE, was released in 2022. It comprises of original music taken from her score to the Netflix documentary feature of the same name.
